Global Pet Relocation Agreement (Updated 2026 Compliance Version)
These Terms and Conditions form the complete legally binding contract between you (the "Pet Owner" or "Representative") and Animal Travel Services Ltd (referred to as "the Company"). By accepting a quote or processing a booking, you explicitly agree to be bound by the terms outlined below. 1. Care, Handling and Limitation of Liability The utmost professional respect, standards, and care shall be extended to the Pet Owner's animals at all times. However, all pets are handled, transported, and boarded with the explicit understanding that Animal Travel Services Ltd, contracted airlines, selected veterinarians, and third-party boarding facilities are at no time to be held legally or financially responsible for the loss, death, escape, accident, injury, or illness of any animal due to any cause whatsoever, whether arising naturally, dynamically, or accidentally. Animal Travel Services Ltd acts as an expert facilitator and cannot be held responsible or liable for unexpected flight delays, abrupt flight cancellations, sudden changes of aircraft type, airline route alterations, or the loss of international documentation during transit. Additional operational expenses for extended boarding, alternative ground logistics, and/or repeat veterinary work necessitated by any of these external events shall remain the sole financial responsibility of the Pet Owner. 2. Postponements, Route Changes and Alterations Any postponement, cancellation, or change of scheduled flight dates initiated by the Pet Owner or their representative can incur substantial operational penalties, re-booking fees, or fare differences from the airline and regulatory bodies. All such fees are the direct financial responsibility of the Pet Owner and must be settled prior to the departure of the pet. 3. Pet Health and Transit Insurance Comprehensive marine, transit, or veterinary medical insurance for pets during relocation is not covered nor provided by Animal Travel Services Ltd. The Pet Owner is strongly encouraged to arrange independent transit insurance policies directly with their preferred corporate or personal insurance provider prior to transit layout execution. 4. Price Estimates, IATA Compliance and Rate Volatility All written quote estimates issued by the Company are based on prevailing market rates and remain valid for exactly thirty (30) days from the date of issue. Estimates are strictly calculated using the precise pet breed, anatomical dimensions, and weight metrics supplied directly by the Pet Owner or their agent. Should an airline, the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) veterinarian, or regulatory officials reject a container due to strict International Air Transport Association (IATA) compliance rules (requiring an increase in the travel crate size for the pet's welfare), the Pet Owner shall be fully liable for all associated extra freight costs, crate replacement fees, and secondary handling charges. Furthermore, all quote estimates remain subject to immediate adjustments resulting from unexpected airline fuel surcharges or spot rate increases. 5. Pre-Existing Health Conditions, Vaccinations and Veterinary Interventions Any and all prior health complications, behavioral anxieties, physical limitations, and active medical prescriptions concerning the pet must be fully disclosed in writing to Animal Travel Services Ltd before flight bookings are locked. Failure to disclose medical histories may critically alter or invalidate your pet's legal capability to travel safely under airline regulations. Should any animal require emergency or unexpected professional veterinary attention for any reason while under the active custody of Animal Travel Services Ltd or its logistics subcontractors, all incurred clinic fees, medication costs, and dispatch expenses will be charged entirely to the account of the Pet Owner. For any pets utilizing short-term, in-home boarding solutions facilitated by the Company, animals must be completely up to date with all required domestic and international vaccinations. Any emergency booster vaccinations or mandatory clinical procedures needed to satisfy boarding house or entry destination rules shall be executed at the explicit cost of the Pet Owner. 6. Financial Payment Terms and Cancellation Policies Full cleared payment is strictly required by the specific due date detailed in the initial quote estimate acceptance paperwork. Payments must be executed via cash or processed as a direct electronic funds transfer into Animal Travel Services Ltd's nominated New Zealand bank account. CRITICAL DISPATCH COMPLIANCE DIRECTION: NO CLEARANCE PAYMENT - NO DISPATCH FLYER AUTHORISATION (NO PAY - NO FLY). Flight paths and biosecurity clearances will not be confirmed or executed under any circumstances without prior receipt of full, cleared institutional funds. In the event of a total cancellation initiated by the Pet Owner, Animal Travel Services Ltd reserves the absolute legal right to issue refunds partial or whole only after the definitive deduction of all administrative fees, booking overheads, and third-party non-refundable operational costs already incurred by the Company during logistics preparation. 7. Privacy Act 2020 & Cross-Border Data Disclosures In accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, the Company collects personal details, identity records, and pet medical data solely for executing international transport networks. You acknowledge and authorize that this private data will be securely transmitted across international borders to customs agencies, border handlers, and third-party airlines as strictly necessary under Principle 12 rules to authorize entry into destination countries (including complex environments such as South Africa, South America, Estonia, and Russia).
